About the Business

Welcome to Kate Tilton’s Author Services, LLC!

Since 2010, author assistant Kate Tilton assisted authors in reaching readers and helped readers connect with authors (and each other). The publishing world is a community of those who love reading. Authors need readers like readers need authors and Kate has made it her mission to connect the two.

Kate Tilton has been in love with books for as long as she can remember. A relatively new voice in publishing, Kate has been serving authors behind the scenes since 2010. Founder of Kate Tilton’s Author Services, LLC, Kate works as an author assistant and speaker with the mission of connecting authors and readers. Kate is the creator and host of #K8chat (Thursdays at 9pm Eastern on Twitter) and has appeared on popular media such as Publishers Weekly, Library Journal, RT Book Reviews, The Book Designer, Kobo Writing Life and Rafflecopter. A cat-lover and fan of many geeky things, Kate can likely be found curled up with the latest Doctor Who episode, plotting world takeover, or connecting authors and readers in any way she can. You can find Kate on katetilton.com.

Your thoughts about the work provided to you: Kate always acted like a professional. She completed her beta read for me on time and was very thorough with the material, pointing out weaknesses in the manuscript that needed my attention. Extremely useful in improving the manuscript. She's a class act. Would definitely use her services again.

Your thoughts about the work provided to you: I first heard of author assistants about a year ago, when I was approached by one to be on another author's street team. I looked into what author assistants could do then and decided that I would consider them in the future. The future arrived this summer and I found myself floundering in the number of tasks I had to manage to grow my author career, as well as write and do my day job as a doctor. I needed that author assistant! I found Kate through an article she was featured in on Joel Friedlander's blog The Book Designer. I was impressed by her website and got in touch via email. Kate replied promptly, we set up a Skype chat, and I've never looked back since. Kate did some incredibly useful social media training with me at the very start which has significantly reduced the number of hours I spend on there. She is super efficient, a spreadsheet master, fun to chat with, and gets the job done. She has helped manage my recent giveaways and sales, as well as set up books on several retailers' platforms. Kate will undoubtedly continue to be a fantastic asset in the future and I look forward to working with her for months and years to come.
